Frequently Asked Questions

How much can PhotoZip compress my photos?

Typical JPEGs from an iPhone shrink by 70–90% with no visible quality loss. HEIC files, which are already efficient, usually shrink 30–50%. PNG screenshots and screen recordings can see 60%+ reductions when converted to JPEG or HEIC.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's ImageIO framework. The App has no server, no analytics, and no network dependency — it works in airplane mode.

Where do compressed files go?

Compressed output is stored in the App's private Application Support directory so you can re-share it later from the History tab. You can also tap Save to Photos to write files to your photo library. Clear everything at any time from Settings → Clear compressed files.

Why is my free quota not resetting after reinstalling?

PhotoZip tracks the free-tier quota in the iOS Keychain keyed by a random device UUID. This is intentional — it prevents abuse by deleting and reinstalling the App. Quotas reset automatically at local midnight. Upgrade to PhotoZip Pro for unlimited compressions.

How do I cancel or restore PhotoZip Pro?

Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions to manage or cancel. To restore a purchase on a new device, open PhotoZip, go to Pro tab → Restore Purchases and sign in with the Apple ID that made the original purchase.

Do you support RAW or video compression?

Not yet. PhotoZip is focused on photographic images (JPEG, HEIC, PNG). RAW and video support are on our roadmap — let us know what you need!

Can PhotoZip run on iPad / Mac?

PhotoZip runs natively on iPhone and iPad. It also runs on Apple Silicon Macs via "Designed for iPad" compatibility, though the layout is optimized for touch devices.
